After Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, Ms. Swift was devastated. She later told the ladies of The View that she thought all of the booing was because the audience agreed with Mr. West. I can’t begin to imagine this nineteen-year-old girl’s pain. Her moment had been stolen.
Could anything short of a mad scientist with a time machine give Ms. Taylor her moment back. At her first opportunity, Beyonce called Taylor Swift back to the stage and took her back in time. Beyonce gave her moment to Taylor, who then thanked her fans for all their support.
The immediacy of Beyonce’s kindness was also important. The sooner a trauma victim is treated, the greater the chance for complete recovery. Beyonce gave Taylor a chance to recover completely from this trauma and viewers were treated to a display of kindness rarely seen.
